My Research Interests

I love physics, and I admire physicists because I'm not one of them. Studying applied math has allowed me to stand on the border between math and physics - and I love it here because I basically have a passport that allows me to study multiple subjects and cross borders between not only math and physics, but also biology, chemistry, engineering, computer science, whatever suits my fancy at the time - it's fantastic!

My advisor, Professor Arnold Kim, and I are currently working on inverse scattering problems using the Radiative Transport Equation. Specifically looking at scattered light from layered tissues in an attempt to locate variation in tissue composition. This means that I currently am able to combine my interests in math, physics, and biology for the purposes of our research.
