About Me

I am a Professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

I completed my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at University of California, Merced in May 2014.

I enjoy studying physical problems, and my research investigates tissue health through diffuse reflectance measurements. My PhD advisor was  Arnold D. Kim.

My most recent research focuses on pedagogical practices in teaching mathematical modeling.

I am also engaged in the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics through their Education Committee and the joint Committee of members from NCTM, SIAM, and COMAP serving to promote Mathematical Modeling in the classroom.

I am passionate about making mathematics more accessible to STEM majors. I also have diverse interests such as dance, theatre, rock climbing, baking, and generally enjoying the outdoors.
