I started dancing at age 3. I have trained in Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Aerial, Modern, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Tap, Gymnastics, Ballroom, Musical Theatre, Improv, and Commedia Del’Arte. I have dabbled in African jazz, mime, and opera – I have attempted every style of dance I could find. While I am not currently teaching dance, I did for many years. I drop in for classes through Virtuosity Dance Centre, Cindy Brandle Modern Dance, One Big Yes Productions, Frequent Flyers, and (my favorite) 3rd Law Dance.
I have been teaching and choreographing dance for over 20 years. I moved to Colorado from Sacramento, CA where I danced and choreographed with Roseville Modern Dance and Chaotic Collective. My dance mentor is Lena Logan. Lena’s style inspired me to pull from my diverse dance background, and create pieces that are cerebral, technical, and emotional. For me, dance is about connection – making the audience feel something, and through that showing our humanity. For me, science and art create a balance – life is incomplete without either.
